Rock Correa Walk
Located behind the Tallis Wine cellar door, this breathtaking walk takes in the magnificent panoramic views from the Dookie Hills, using interpretative signage at eleven points along the way to raise awareness of the Yorta Yorta people ast the Traditional Owners, highlight the Grassy Woodlands important flora, describe early European settlement in this region and offer a chance to spot local wildlife.
Walkers are invited to take time to read about the natural and cultural values of our local region. At the pinnacle, a panoramic sign shows major land points across the countryside. The track is rocky in places. Walkers are advised to watch their step, wear sturdy footwear, keep eyes peeled for kangaroos and watch out for snakes in warmer months. Water, hat, long pants and sunscreen recommended.
The Rock Correa walk is a collaboration between the Tallis Family, Yorta Yorta Nation Aboriginal Corporation and Goulburn Broken CMA and the National Landcare Programme.

Mount Major Walk – Mulana nin iyoga Walking Trail
The Mulana nin iyoga Walking Trail is situated on the northern face of Mount Major and provides a pinnacle for exploration from which to view and experience the surrounding plains. The walk traverses through farmland, before taking a rather steep climb to the summit of the Mount Major reserve.
Mulana nin iyoga translates to spirit of stone in Yorta Yorta language and relates to the ancient rocks that form the hills, and the importance of the Yorta Yorta peoples’ timeless connection to the Dookie region.
The Mount Major Reserve contains rare remnant vegetation that has survived in the largely cleared landscape. Signage along the trail informs the walker of the unique geology, history, and flora and fauna of the region.
The walk offers lovely views to the north and west as you move up the slope to the head of a gully. From this point the walk continues through a Yellow Box woodland to the summit. The trail then crosses the plateau to the southern side of the Mount, offering views of the ranges to the south and east. The walk is approximately 2.3kms to the southern lookout (4.6kms return). Whilst there are no amenities on Mount Major, seating is available along the trail to rest and take in the amazing views.
